simple commodity production

simple commodity production
This is a deductive Marxist concept which describes the production of commodities without surplus value: that is, without wage labour and capitalist profit. The definition is similar if not synonymous with petty commodity production , although some Marxists argue that unlike the latter it is a logical, rather than a historical or empirical category. The term itself was more often used by Friedrich Engels than by Karl Marx himself.
